Veganuary is a non-profit organisation. Every year throughout January, Veganuary encourages people world-wide to try going vegan from January and beyond.

Quick Facts

  • Created in 2014, Veganuary has grown from 3,300 participants to over 400,000

  • More than one million people from over 192 countries take part

  • Over 60% of participants intended to stay vegan after January

  • Great for vegetarians, flexitarians and everyone in between

  • It’s great for workplace challenges too! In 2020, 57 companies from the UK and beyond got involved including ITV, PwC, Ernst & Young and Deliveroo

Founded in the UK in 2014, creators Matthew Glover and Jane Land set out on a mission to change the world. They wanted to support people to try a vegan diet and lifestyle, to drive corporate change, and to create a global movement of compassionate decision making.

Each January since then, more and more people have been trying veganism. Veganuary has increased its following from 3,300 participants in 2014 to over 400,000 in 2020!

Even celebrities get involved - Joaquin Phoenix most notably posted in support of Veganuary; ‘If you look at the climate crisis or the violence of our food system and feel helpless, thinking ‘I wish there was something I could do’ – you can. Right now. Sign up to try vegan this January.’

Veganuary is an amazing initiative for a cause that is very close to all. You too, can pledge to try vegan this January - sign up here and give Veganuary a go!
