Keep Australia Beautiful Week

Keep Australia Beautiful Week

Here at MyLife, we support all initiatives and charities committed to making our planet a better place for us, the animals and the environment. Keep Australia Beautiful Week takes place once a year, and in 2021 it will run in late August. Established in 1968, Keep Australia Beautiful was Australia’s first sustainable and anti-litter campaigner. Since then, they have been working state based offices and local community groups to raise awareness on how we can all live more sustainably. Their mission is to grow a community of Australians committed to keeping our country beautiful!

How Long Does It Take For Waste To Decompose?

How Long Does It Take For Waste To Decompose?

We had a great response to our fact sheet on the Do’s and Dont’s of composting, so we thought we’d make up another guide about how long it takes for the average, non-compostable waste to fully break down. The results will shock you, but hopefully spark an urge to collectively clean up our act and leave the world a better place for future generations.

Food Allergy Week

Food Allergy Week

Food Allergy Week is an initiative by Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia. Food Allergy week aims to raise awareness of severe food allergies and the impact allergies can have on everyday life. 1 in 3 Australians will experience an allergic reaction to food in their lifetime. Australia has one of the highest rates of allergies in the world overall. According to a study by the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Australia also has the highest published rates of food allergies in children. In fact, one in ten infants will be born with a food allergy. While many children grow out of their allergies, many also suffer from lifelong allergies.
